The world economy is stronger than expected.

The OECD is an international organisation in Paris. It often makes forecasts about the economy of many countries. In September the OECD published a new forecast for the world. According to it the world economy will grow by almost 3 per cent this year. That is a little more than the last forecast.

This year there is a war with Iran in the Middle East. Because of the war oil and gas are very expensive. Still, the economy did not go down as many people expected. Governments were helping people and companies with money for electricity and fuel. And companies are investing a lot in artificial intelligence.

Germany and Italy are growing better than expected. Germany is selling more electronics around the world. But France is growing very slowly. Prices in the shops are still going up fast. The head of the OECD says that the money for help is running out slowly. So next year could turn out to be harder for everyone.
