Is artificial intelligence dangerous for us?

Today artificial intelligence is very useful for people. It writes texts, translates and answers many questions. But many scientists see three big dangers for the future.

The first danger is bad people. They can use artificial intelligence as a weapon. The second danger: machines can become smarter than people. Then people lose control over them. The famous scientist Geoffrey Hinton thinks that this is serious.

The third danger is quiet and slow. Step by step people give more and more decisions to the machines. In the end the machines decide about almost everything.

Other scientists think completely differently. They say that the real problems are already here. Artificial intelligence spreads fake news on the internet. It uses a lot of electricity and water, and some people lose their jobs. For now nobody knows what will happen.
